Il primo santo afroamericano nasce a Lima (Perù) nel 1579. Frate domenicano, erborista e guaritore, incarna le tre culture che formano l’America Latina, ovvero india, spagnola e africana, espressione viva delle opere di misericordia. La Chiesa lo ricorda il 3 novembre.
